Today is Day 2000 of me posting a 1-2 minute on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube.
Early on the video was about ‘Why I do what I do’ and it has now progressed to giving people tips and hints on how to live life differently.
Over 3 years ago I started sending out a weekly email (today is 185 weeks in a row) and making my videos based on the email being sent out.
Why would I do this? Great question.
I did it as I’m always encouraging and supporting my clients to step up and to stretch their comfort zone.
I realised in 2019; I was living in my comfort zone and which in some ways made me a hypocrite as I wasn’t walking the talk.
So …. I decided to do a video every day for 365 days and then decided to stretch myself by doing it for another 365 days.
Did that and ticked off 900, 1000, 1500 days and now aiming to go for 3000 days. Then? Well, I have 1000 days to work that out!
What have I learnt?
1. It is not easy stretching yourself.
2. It feels good to be walking the talk.
3. A lot of people have and do thank me for what I do in these two areas.
4. It is easy to start a new habit, but it takes a lot of work to keep it going.
5. It takes discipline to do this every day (rarely I record a video in advance).
6. The longer you do something the easier it starts to become.
I’m sure none of these things are a huge revelation to you, BUT what would happen if you stretched yourself a little bit and moved out of your comfort zone?
I’m walking my talk.
What about you?
Where do you need to stretch yourself in your life?
