We are all faced with problems and some days you wonder why you get out of bed. You have this idea of what life should be like, but it doesn’t seem to happen. Maybe you need to work out what really makes you tick.
These 10 questions will help you do this.
- What do I really want?
So many things you want to do with your life and so little time to do them during the day. Finding what you are good at can help create a small step towards improvement. Diligence is the key to know that it is worth it.
- Should I really change?
What is your evidence that you need to change, that life is not working out for you? If you were to change something in your life what would that be and why?
- What’s the bright side in all of this?
In the business of life there seems to be no room for even considering that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. What are you learning from where you are now? By looking for the positives of where you find yourself, will help you see things differently.
- Am I comfortable with what I’m doing?
What do you value and truly believe in? Does your life reflect that or are you living a life that is inconsistent with your values, morals and integrity? The more you are aligned with your values the more comfortable you will be.
- Have I done enough for myself?
Have you, or is there something more you want to do? Discontentment sooner or later affects us in a negative way. How well do look after the person in the mirror? Would they sack you or keep you?
- Am I content at where I am today?
Everyone seems to be focused on being happy and often are just unhappy. Contentment is you are ok with where things are – they could be better, but they could be worse. Your focus is accepting there are good/bad days and learning from them.
- Am I appealing to people?
To have friends you need to be a friend. If your relationship is not going well, what is your part in it not working. If you are single – what do you need to change to be a person that someone would want to be in a relationship with?
- How much could I have?
Most of us would like to have lots of money, how much are you willing to work for it and is the cost of getting that money or the things it can buy worth it? In your pursuit of money how will that affect your relationship/family?
- What motivates me?
What motivates you? It’s an answer you must find out. There are many reasons why we do things – what are the reasons that you don’t do the things you should be doing? If there is something you should be doing but don’t, then clearly it is not important to you, doing nothing about it is more important.
- What Really Makes You Tick?
So? What really makes you tick? You can be just about anything you want to be, but to realise doing something is hard requires effort, is almost giving up before you even start. Remember, that self-improvement is not just about the physical or mindset change, but it’s about doing and making it happen.
